Layman's Terms: Dirty or Neat, Kids are SO Sweet

I started doing photography and realizing I could when Madison, my daughter was born over 11 years ago.
It was my passion for capturing her in all of her innocence and sweetness that made me realize I actually could do that.
I am writing this blog because I LOvE LOvE LovE to shoot children. There is nothing like it.
Their sweet little features, the innocence in their eyes, everything about a child is majestic. My favorite thing to look at is my children.
It is bitter sweet to watch them grow up before your eyes. I wish I could capture every moment of their sweet little lives and remember each day perfectly.
I like to think that the more pictures I take of them the closer I am to capturing each moment in time. Forever.
Here are some pictures of my own children and a few others. Enjoy

Layman's Terms: Don't Stop Believin'

I have not known Deanna or Mark for very long at all. What I have learned of Deanna is that she is a genuinely nice person who would do anything for anyone whether you were a close friend of hers or just an acquaintance. She is a true blue person.
Deanna and Mark have been together for nearly 17 years.
They are getting married to one another next weekend.
I know you have heard the saying, "Wine gets better with age?". Well I believe so does LOVE with Deanna and Mark. I was also Deanna's Wedding Planner so I got to know her a little better than Mark. I think she will finally trust me 100% when she gets back from her honeymoon!
She has been a little stressed out about the wedding (which is normal by the way.....Deanna).
I know she will be a beautiful bride because she was beautiful in these engagement photos as well.
Deanna I am proud of you. You are a beautiful person inside and out. Love you, girl!!

Layman's Terms: Now if That Ain't American I don't know what is.

Okay. I am not sure if I have words to describe this shoot.
I'll try.
I could not wait to shoot it. I could not wait to dump it off my memory card. I could not wait to edit them. I could not wait to call the mother and tell her how wonderful they were. I cried and they are not my children.
Have I said I think these are for sure my best pictures yet?
I hate to toot my own horn but I thought these were pretty dang good, y'all (Thanks to my Razorback Redneck Daddy who corrected my on my placement of the apostrophe the other day:)
We did this shoot for Father's day and these children's father is a member of our wonderful United States Army. He is a wonderful man with a more than wonderful wife, and three beautiful children as you can see in the pictures.

Layman's Terms: Girlz is CRAZY. In a good way..

I met up with the girls of the Burt family recently. Liz is a super nice friend of mine who has three girls, Caylee, Cloey, and Lexi. We got together to take their pictures as a surprise for Father's Day coming up.
All of her girls are WONDERFUL. Little Lexi is the most photogenic little thing! They ran around playing and goofing around and I still got some fabulous shots!!! That is what I love!
Little Cloey was running off all day. Liz was a little sidetracked chasing her around and I just laughed. I laughed because I knew I would get some good pics anyway. Its not about how still you are or everyone posing and saying "cheese".
I hate that.
It's about them not paying attention! Liz told me after she saw the pictures that she could not believe I got so many good ones, I knew they would be good the whole time :)
Moral of the story is the crazier the kids (GIRLS) are the better the pictures!

Layman's Terms: Cute Groom+Cutie Pie Bride= Cute Pictures

Okay so I arrived at this wedding to shoot the bride getting ready, but the bride wasn't there yet.

A frantic bridesmaid let me in the hotel room and started rambling about where everyone was. I decided I would go to the store and get some things for the day. True to form I was in a town I did not know and I got lost.

I get lost everywhere I go.
It is an ongoing joke in my family that when I finally got to drive myself to high school for the first time I what? Yep, got lost.

Anyway, I made it back the bride made it there, and after a crazy day filled with: waiting for someone to unlock the church with about 50 guests outside in the heat, trying to find the park for the after wedding shots and having to follow the Limo driver who does two very awkward Uturns in the middle of some CRAZY streets, and some drinking, hilarious wedding party members......

I got some pretty dang good shots!!!!
